For over forty years, every winter, San Carlos de Bariloche celebrating National Snow Festival .
The mountain culture of this town, has its celebration that combines traditional events and new attractions that serve as the main destination presentation snow center in Argentina.
Each year the festival runs a calendar that includes major events culminating in the election of the National Snow Queen . This election is held in the Civic Center of the city of Bariloche youth , and focuses the most attention of all Fiesta.
In the National Snow Festival a race of young men, walking the slopes of the central streets with their trays with glasses and bottles should care to not spill its contents is performed. The garment industry of woolen garments , offering a parade and contest with their handicrafts . The rural area of northern Patagonia have your event at the party : the contest loggers and hacheras . There are competing to see who finishes faster to cut a wooden log of a meter in diameter.
In the week of the festival can enjoy musical shows, art exhibitions and sporting events.
In the mountains , the opening is made with a spectacular ” torchlight parade ” where all the teams and schools ski down the slopes carrying lighted torches at sunset . Upon reaching the base, the fireworks begin marking the beginning of the party .
Snow Day in 2014
From 19 to 23 June will take place in San Carlos de Bariloche , Province of Rio Black , a new edition of the National Snow Festival , a traditional celebration that invites tourists from around the country and the region . The Civic Center will be numerous performances provided by the Secretariat of Culture of the Nation.
Bariloche is preparing for its forty- third edition of the National Snow Festival which will take place during the current 19 to 23 . For five days there will be art shows, competitions and parade floats to promote season one of the most beautiful ski resorts in South America.
On Wednesday 19 , on the biggest stage the queen candidates , local and regional artists will perform , and winter tourism promotion is officially launched.
On Thursday 20 career waiters, the parade and contest pullover, tango and ballet thirty artists on stage will be performed.
On Friday 21 , with the onset of winter , will be the traditional torchlight parade at Cerro Catedral and Saturday 22 will be the day of election of the National Snow Queen .
The Ministry of Culture of the Nation accompany these festivities , with outstanding artistic performances : Friday at 21 The Tekis act ; Saturday at 22 , Miranda ; and Sunday at 21 , Kapanga . Admission to all concerts will be free .
The celebration will end with fireworks and the reissue of the parade floats by Mitre street, which used to celebrating the snow, the mountains and legends of Bariloche
