Café Homero Manzi (Av. San Juan 3601).
One of the traditional places of the city of Buenos Aires. You can see a typical tango show Friday at 22.00. a drink is paid for the right to show.
The iconic corner of San Juan and Boedo immortalized in the “South” tango has been carefully renovated and works all day as a bar.
The home built in that corner in 1927, became the symbol of the urban culture of the Forties. For their tables, they passed tango musicians who made the most representative of the city, including Homero Manzi artistic expression.
Carlos Gardel Museum
It is located in the neighborhood of Abasto in the house that the singer bought his mother in 1927.
Construction is carefully set with relics, old records, newspapers and magazines covers period with the smile of “Zorzal Criollo”. The courtyard, the piletón for laundry, cooking, ironing room back to the visitor to Buenos Aires life of the early twentieth century.
The Museum opened its doors in March 2003, in the house where Carlos Gardel lived and his mother. The house was rebuilt by the City Government based on documents of the time.
From March 13 you can see a special exhibition which runs more than 100 recordings made in 1930 Gardel: his musical accompaniments with Aguilar, Barbieri and Riverol and their experience of recording with the orchestra of Francisco Canaro. But this is not the only activity that makes this house-museum, so it is highly recommended information on its website.
Although the spirit of Gardel permeates all these sites, other points of interest relive the history and work of more authors and singers who delighted the tango bar and intellectuals for more than half a century.
El Viejo Almacen
(Balcarce and Independence), built in 1780, the imprint of unforgettable Edmundo Rivero, the “Polaco” Goyeneche, Anibal Troilo, Osvaldo Pugliese and Horacio Salgán, among others revives. The old house was also hospital, winery and restaurant until the late 60 was transformed into the most famous tango venue in Buenos Aires.
Club Tango Porteño
Located in the hall of the old movie theater Metro, owned by Metro Goldwyn Meyer company.
The old movie screen serves to evoke the Buenos Aires sepia color 40s, a period in which the tango “reigned” over the city streets.
The revived large orchestras Canaro, Fresedo, Piazzolla, De Caro, Gobbi, Biagi, De Angelis … and the unforgettable Troilo and Pugliese, next to theatrical display and stunning costumes, transport the viewer to another time.

Cafe de los Angelitos
On the mythical corner of RivadaviCafé of the Little Angels, by which ever passed Gardel, Razzano or Florencio Parravicini, you can have a coffee and enjoy a careful tango show with talented dance partners, musicians and singers. The costumes and the staging pass different times and usually culminate with an endearing version of “Adios Nonino”, in which the virtues of bandoneonista Lautaro Greco look.
San Telmo
