Nearly 5 million tourists arrived in Argentina in July

According to data provided by the Ministry of Tourism of Argentina there was a 13.9 percent growth in arrivals over the same period of 2011 and a cumulative 79 percent from 2003 to domestic tourist destinations in Argentina.

Also recorded a total of 6.6 million arrivals during the winter season 2012, which comprises the second half of June and July, and there was a 7.2 percent increase over the same period last year.
Tourism Minister’s Office, Enrique Meyer, stressed the importance of diversity in winter tourism in Argentina to achieve these results and urged to continue working together from all sectors.

In the first half of July there were 2 million tourist arrivals to domestic destinations, while in the second half were 2.8 million tourists who decided to vacation in our country. Major destinations were the Party of the Buenos Aires coast, the National Park Iguazú falls, Misiones, the provinces of Salta, Córdoba and a strong increase in visitors in the Patagonia region compared to 2011.

Note that expected more than 1.3 million tourist arrivals to destinations in Argentina during the first half of August, thus achieving an increase of 4 percent over the same period last year. An estimated 93.7 percent of Argentines traveling within the country, with an average stay of 4 nights, an average daily expenditure of 239 pesos.
