The City of Mendoza competed against other world cities such as Paris, Athens, Buenos Aires , London , Asuncion, Paraguay , Roma , Quito , Santiago , Toronto , Tokyo , Lima , La Paz , Beirut , Sydney , Jakarta, among others.
Mendoza was established as a “City emerging novel that combines mountain, wine, snow and city”. This place is among the cities with a permanent offer at any time of year. Thus, the “International Wine Capital ” has earned a place among the Great Cities.
In the early stages, the City of Mendoza was chosen from more than 1200 cities in 220 countries.
