Idiomatic tourism grows in Argentina

In 2010, more than 11 000 tourists took advantage of their stay in the country to study Spanish in educational academies. Argentina Chamber of Tourism conducted a seminar for tour operators.

“Study Spanish in Argentina” was the name of the seminar organized by the CAT and the Ministry of Tourism of the Nation, through the Undersecretary of Tourism Development, Development Directorate of the Offer, and the National Institute of Tourism (INPROTUR ).

A tour operator who attended were presented with the priority markets, the demand profile, communication strategies and product promotion. N addition to this, there will be another meeting to emphasize the course offerings, and thus more easily included in the tour programs.

The seminar took part as authority, the Director of Development Offer, Cecilia Rolon, and Technical Reference Idiomatic Tourism, Maria Laura Scimone, by the Ministry of Tourism of the Nation’s Education Outreach Coordinator INPROTUR Tourism, Juliana Fuchs, Lorena Belcastro, Argentina Association of Spanish Language Schools Foreign Language (AACELE), Marcelo Garcia, Association of Language Centres (SEA), and the Interuniversity Consortium CELU (Certificate of Spanish Language and Use), the Executive Secretary Ana Maria Morra , while the CAT was attended by General Manager Juan Carlos Vidal and Manager, Marta Sánchez Magnoni.

The number of 2010 tourists who came to study Spanish 11,370, and is exceeding the number of tourists motivated by products such as Polo and Golf. Meanwhile, the directory of language tourism offerings together over 70 institutions rated by the educational path.

Argentina also offers the Certificate in Spanish Language and Use (Celu), administered by the Inter-University Consortium and endorsed by the Ministry of Education’s Office, which is also recognized internationally.
