Aerolineas Argentinas President Mariano Recalde, and President Edward Bastian Delta Air Lines, announced an agreement to offer codeshare flights and reciprocal use of their lounges. The agreement includes eight domestic destinations in Argentina, among which is included Iguazú, 14 U.S., 3 in Canada and flights to Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
The agreement will allow users of both airlines buy tickets of the two companies from the point of sale, offering better access to network services provided by airlines.
In addition to flights between Buenos Aires and the United States, Aerolíneas Argentinas will offer its services to 14 additional domestic destinations in the U.S. and three in Canada. The 14 additional destinations are: Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco, San Juan, Seattle and Washington DC Similarly, and under the agreement, Aerolíneas Argentinas will access the services provided to Delta Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver in Canada.
In addition, Delta will offer connections on Aerolineas Argentinas flights to the following eight destinations in Argentina: Calafate, Cordoba, Iguazu, Mendoza, Rio Grande, Rosario, San Carlos de Bariloche and Ushuaia, the capital of the province of Tierra del Fuego. Additional destinations include South America: Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Santiago de Chile, Chile, Asuncion, Paraguay, and Montevideo, Uruguay.
The flights begin in the fourth quarter of this year. And in 2012 Delta Airlines Argentina presented reciprocal exchange mileage accrual and redemption benefits for frequent travelers.
Plus and Airlines SkyMiles can earn and redeem frequent flyer miles on all Delta flights and Aerolineas Argentinas.
Joint Promotion
The opportunity was also signed an agreement between the Minister of Tourism, Enrique Meyer, Delta’s vice president for Latin America and the Caribbean, Nicolas Ferri. During the ceremony, also attended by the president of Aerolineas Argentinas, Mariano Recalde, and executive secretary of INPROTUR, Leonardo Boto.
Tourism Minister and president of the National Institute of Tourism (INPROTUR), Enrique Meyer, signed an agreement with Delta Air Lines vice president for Latin America and the Caribbean, Nicolas Ferri, with the aim of developing joint promotional activities to promote our country as a tourist destination.
The agreement provides training and promotional trips for travel agents, corporate resellers and the media to visit and meet Argentina. Similarly, also established travel to the United States for tourism operators to participate in various Argentine fairs and exhibitions sector.
Meyer Turismo530 assured that “our country is full of history, art, music and natural wonders that are sure to cover the expectations of discerning travelers.” He added that “this alliance is a new action we take from the Ministry of Tourism and INPROTUR to position Argentina as an international tourist destination in first class.”
“The new agreement gives us the opportunity INPROTUR to strengthen our presence in Argentina and participate in campaigns to promote this beautiful country in the United States,” said Nicolas Ferri. “We thank the minister Meyer and INPROTUR this opportunity as this new relationship allows us to implement and strengthen our growth strategy, in addition to increasing our participation in the regional market,” concluded the vice president of Delta Latin America and the Caribbean.
